ACTING EXAMS COMING TO THE ARTZ CENTRE IN 2023

The month of October brings yet another opportunity to our Artz Academy Students, with the launch of our new RSL Acting Exams programme on Saturday 21st of October. 

Following 5 successful years of delivering RSL Musical Theatre Exams, this new programme sees an expansion to our current accredited classes, offering students the opportunity to work towards industry-recognised qualifications in Acting, during the months of October – January (with Musical Theatre qualifications continuing to run February – September).
The new qualification, also hosted in partnership with RSL, will assess candidates in a performance setting (similar to our Musical Theatre Show Exams) whilst focussing however, on the technical skills of acting performance. The Acting Exam Show will see candidates perform excerpts from plays, anthologies, adaptations of novels and/or films; bringing some of their favourite characters from page, screen and stage to life. Candidates will perform solo, in duos and trios, and we are already so excited as-to how this production may look!

It is also worth nothing that for higher level candidates (older Senior Students and/or previous Musical Theatre Exam Candidates) that Grades 6-8 of the RSL Acting Exams will offer an in-depth training into the key professional skills required when auditioning for drama schools, further education in performance and many job roles within the creative industries. 

With this in mind, graduates from our exam classes have gone on to receive offers to further their training from: The Brighton Institute for Contemporary Theatre, Royal Central School of Speech And Drama, Guildford School of Acting (GSA), the National Youth Film Academy, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, The National Youth Theatre, Urdang Academy, The Liverpool Media Academy and East 15 Acting School.

With a 100% pass rate for over 200 young people accessing our RSL exam provision over the past 5 years, we are proud to now expand into the core skills of Acting, alongside our popular Musical Theatre qualification programme.
