Dance first. Think later. It’s the natural order.
Totz: Our dance class for the littlest of dancers! Children in nursery and wraparound. At this age, Artz Dance isn’t just about taking your first steps onstage… it’s about taking your first steps – ever! Totz classes promote mobility and play as well as independent learning and performance. Plus all our Totz dancers are invited to show off their hard work at our summer showcase alongside their elder peers in Infants, Juniors and Seniors.
Infants: For children in reception up to Year 2. Infant dance provides a space for children to learn, make mistakes, play and above all else to grow in confidence. With introductory lessons which teach the basic techniques of a variety of dance styles, from Jazz to Ballet.
Juniors: For children in Year 3 – Year 6. Junior dance is a safe environment for any and all young people to be themselves, be brave and share their love for dance with each other. While learning and training under the lead of our Dance Principal Sophie Clarke. Artz Junior Dancers train in a variety of styles: Jazz, Modern, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, tap and more!
Seniors: For young people in Year 7 – Year 13. Senior dance combines a warm and welcoming environment with aspiration and thorough training that is sure to equip dancers with the skills they need to succeed onstage and off it. Senior dancers are stretch to be the best version of themselves using the most expressive art form that there is!
Adults: For anyone and everyone! Dance Fit is our adult dance class that is sure to leave you with a sweat on but also with a real sense of pride in yourself. Whether you’re constantly on the move or whether you’re looking for a way to get your steps up, Artz Dance Fit can help! But the thing we are proudest about for our Dance Fit class is the vibrant community of adults that come together to support each other, laugh together, and dance together.
For the past 10 years, we’ve been training dancers out of our Artz Centre. We opened our site in UpHolland in 2019, believing that if we want everyone to feel their best, we need a space that reflects that. When you walk into an Artz Centre, you’ll see the history on the walls, from performers and alumni who’ve come and gone, to our Hall of Fame and Chapter 15, 30, and 50 initiatives.
We want every new student to feel part of something bigger than just any one of us. They can be a part of a culture, a community, and a legacy. So, what does our building look like? Our site is equipped with rehearsal studios, performance spaces, and outdoor space too (especially useful for those summer rehearsals where you need a little chill-out time in the sun). You can find our full address below.

Informed by industry-leading practices, Artz Dance Sessions provide a comprehensive training and rehearsal programme. All sessions begin with rigorous warm-ups and preparatory exercises before progressing to workshops on technique and skills development across various dance styles. Sessions then go on to rehearsals which lead to a public showcase. Artz Dance Classes encourage dancers of all ages, from infants to seniors, to view dance as an art form, considering the story told through performances and recognising dance as both an artistic expression and a physical exercise.
All this training and rehearsal leads towards our annual dance showcase, where dancers of all ages perform together in the same show.
Additionally, each session fosters a supportive community where dancers can connect with friends, fellow performers, and mentors who share their successes, victories, and provide encouragement during challenging moments. We aren’t just a dance school; we are a family!
As a team of theatre makers, creatives, technicians, designers, directors, choreographers, and more, we all share a common belief: putting performers first and above all else.
We know Rome wasn’t built in a day, and becoming a perfect dancer overnight is impossible. In fact, we don’t think you should ever aim for perfection. Instead, strive to be a little better each day. The beauty of this is that the goal is infinite, and so you’ll always have a reason to dance.
At the Artz Centre, we believe that you should dance for joy, to train as an artist and to grow as a person. We’re here to help you refine and hone your love for dance and provide you with the tools you need to stretch and grow your gifts.
Dance can sometimes become too competitive, and in the past, the dance industry has been known to pit performers against each other. But at the Arts Centre, we are working to challenge and change that narrative. We want dance to feel like a community, where you can rely on your fellow dancers for support.
We also understand that you’re human, and that who you are as a person influences your dancing every day. Instead of trying to mould you into someone else, we’d rather celebrate the amazing dancer you are.
