APPRENTICE BLOG V.2 – CHAPTER 5: IT’S SHOWTIME

0

Never, in my whole entire life did I realise how incredible it would feel to say those two little words.

I am by no means a performer, I have about as much interest in becoming a performer as I do becoming a footballer, but after over 18 show-less months, I was right beside the rest of the Artz Family when they let out their collective sigh of relief after the rest of our show dates for 2021 were FINALLY confirmed *touches wood*.

Whilst I am incredibly grateful for the last 18 months, how it has forced the Artz Centre into new areas, areas that created me a job and that pushed us out of our comfort zone in a way we have never experienced before, I am undoubtedly beyond excited for the shows we’ve got coming up.

We’re already 3 shows down in our 10-shows-in-5-months-a-thon and it has been so good getting back to what we do best. It’s safe to say that our little Artz Team has struggled during the various lockdowns, shows are our bread and butter and so being thrown out of that routine, much like the rest of the population, it really shook us, but it now feels like we’re backfiring on all cylinders and making the impossible possible once again.

For me it’s been very surreal going back to the jobs I used to do, I’ve been knee-deep in websites and marketing strategies for so long that now doing something so normal as the show programmes have felt very foreign for me. I actually created a lot of the programmes in the early stages of lockdown so updating them has given me major flashbacks to those early, hot summer days of the pandemic.

So whilst I know the next 3 months are going to be anything but easy, I am so excited that we are returning to our productions and if you haven’t got your tickets to any that are up and coming, grab yours in the link below!

Until next time!
