This weekend, Artz Director Mark Ashton invited Katie Whitehead and a team of her Dancers to give a special performance at their Solo event (A night of Duets). The theme of the evening was all about people working together, and supporting each other through music.
Divine Dance is part of Divine Days Community Arts CIC based in Skelmersdale. They are a community interest company set up to make the Arts accessible to everyone including the most vulnerable in our community. Divine Dance are a performance based project that perform in schools and community venues across the region. All the dancers have additional needs, and the work they produce promotes inclusion and is a celebration of their unique gifts and talents.
“I met Katie and her team of dancers at an event earlier this year and was blown away by their performance and passion for dance. The Artz Centre is a place where people come together to appreciate another persons talent and commitment to the arts. I think Divine Dance is a great example of what can be achieved when people work together” Mark Ashton – Artz Director
The evening was filled with stand-out performances from local young people. Including singing performances from Artz Centre students, and the special guest dance performance from Divine Days.
