Start of a new journey

This last week has been an interesting one. A week which is always full of fun sessions and getting to meet new people. That’s right it was the move up week. This is usually one of my favourite times of the year as we get to see what our new casts are looking like as we get to find new talents and look forward to the year ahead in which we will tackle a new show. Show processes are long, hard and exciting and the people in our sessions are our team in which we build stronger relationships through various games and workshops which I am looking forward to.

In the first Junior session it was interesting to see how some of the newer students from last year had stepped up since a lot of the older and more experienced lot had moved into seniors. Some of my favourite moments in that session would include ones where I got to see how welcoming the cast were to this new team and how the newer lot brought new talents and ideas bringing their own quirks to the group.

Senior session was also really fun! Getting to work with a new team and being able to help introduce people to a new level of musical theatre through different games was really quite enjoyable. I do look forward to getting to know the cast better and being able to help some of the brand new students through their first show.

Another part of my week I really enjoyed was exploring straight drama scripts which I got to do very briefly in the past when looking through my monologue for exam. This side to drama is one I really do quite enjoy and one I plan on exploring a lot more in the future as it is full of new opportunities and challenges.

Overall this week hasn’t really been too stressful but rather a week were I can start looking forward to all the good vibes and learning as I get to build new relations and help be a part of something really quite special as we put together a show.
