The thriving local creative venue, the Artz Centre in Birch Green, have just been awarded “ArtsMark Partner” status, from the Arts Council England.
Since opening in 2014, the Centre have worked tirelessly to provide local young people and adults with a variety of high quality performing arts focused opportunities; and this sheer hard work, determination and dedication is beginning to be recognised, nationwide.
The ArtsMark quality mark is awarded to organisations which enable young people to access high-quality arts and cultural education; and the ArtsMark Partnership status is offered to those organisations that have a further track record of building excellent relationships with local schools and supporting their creative provision, too.
The goal of the Arts Council England is to “provide every child and young person with opportunities to experience the richness of the arts” and the Artz Centre are very proud to have been recognised amongst this year’s endorsed network of ArtsMark partners; by supporting local educational settings on embedding arts and culture across the curriculum.
Over the past 5 years, alongside the busy weekly timetable of classes and events for young people and adults at the Artz Centre itself, the Artz Team deliver regular workshops, classes and courses within local Primary Schools, High Schools and SEN School settings. And, with the addition of ArtsMark Partner status; the Artz Team are now equipped to aid local Educational Settings on their own ArtsMark journeys.
