ARTZ ALUMNI TIE-KNOT AT CENTRE

The Artz Centre is usually known for its vibrant community-led Performing Arts programme, however, this weekend it celebrated a special event of a different kind; playing host to the very first “Artz Wedding”.  The weekend celebrated the marriage of two former Artz students, Liam Hogarth and Megan Sumner (pictured below on their special day, alongside the Artz Staff Team).

The young couple met at the Artz Centre during Spring 2016, whilst rehearsing for an Artz Academy production of West Side Story, and over recent years the pair had performed in a total of 51 Artz productions, between them. As students, Liam and Megan had each been awarded the much revered accolade of “Artz Student of the Year”, and throughout their time in the Artz Academy, had not just become brilliant performers, but also respected role models amongst younger Artz students, too.

Following the couple’s engagement in September 2017, wedding plans began; and Artz Centre Director, Mark Ashton, was particularly thrilled with the couple’s choice of Wedding Venue. In an endearing speech given on the day, Mark noted how the Artz Centre had witnessed the beginning of Megan and Liam’s journey together, and how it only made sense for the Centre, a seemingly “second home” to the couple, to host their special day.

The sunshine-filled day was enjoyed by close family and friends of Liam and Megan; and the Artz Team would like to once again, extend every happiness to Liam and Megan as they begin their next chapter as Mr. and Mrs. Hogarth.
